A Milestone

So...what about you? How many miles a year do you put on your car? If the car fairy were to bring you a new car tomorrow - what would you want?

Too many. Though this year we are doing a lot more closer to home. My van is a 2004 - so it only took 5 1/2 years to bring it to a 100K milestone. Ugh.

I want a new Toyota Sienna...

My car is a 2006, and we've already racked up 120,000 miles! Then again, we take a lot of road trips in it, and it still seems brand new!

I guess I would take a Nissan Armada, although I'm pretty faithful to my Tahoe. So, ssshhh... don't tell her I said that!

A year? Don't know.

But when we sold our cars this year, my beloved '98 Lumina (I bought it brand new in '97) had over 150,000 on it.

Now we are (intentionally) car-less. But I miss my reliable Lumina! It took me home every year, and then some.

Oh, and I think our Camaro had over 125,000...

The first new to us car has over 200K on it. It's a 95 and we haven't driven it in 3 years almost. (saving it for the teenager)

My new car is a 07 and already has almost 50K on it. And that was being unemployed for over a year. Sucks living in the boonies.

My dream car, what I would be willing to trade my '01 Caravan in for would be a Mercedes Sport. "Sorry kids, Gramma only has two seats and Papa is going with me. Guess I can't take you."

My 2004 car has 84000 miles on it.

I would LOVE for the car fairy to bring me an Audi Q7. :-)

I don't know how many per year either - my van (Town and Country) is a 1998 and has 270,000+ miles on it but only the last 3 years and probably 50,000 miles are mine.

I wanted the new Town and Country when I saw the swively seats and game table, but the new outside makes me gag. I'm not in love with any of the minivans out there right now, so I guess I'll go with the for-me-only car - some sort of BMW sedan. Not the biggest one, but not the smallest one either.

I put on just over 10K per year. I got my car June 20 last year, and it has about 11,300 at the moment. Once I start driving Mister Man to school every day, that will definitely go up! A lot, I'm guessing.

But if the new car fairy brought me a new car? I really don't know what I'd want. There's nothing that really calls out to me right now. Sad, isn't it?

Oh, and I'm so happy to see that the spedometer was at 0 when you took the picture :)

I put 5-7K a year on my car. I don't drive that much, I guess. When I lived downtown, I put 3-4K a year. Crazy, right? I love my car, but if I could have a new one, poof-for free, I would get the BMW X5. I've always been a BMW gal. Someday. Sigh.

Nothing fancy here... though a car with A/C in the backseats would be nice!

My car is an 03, I think, and it has just over 70k on it. We don't take it on vacations (always rent), so those miles are mostly hospital miles. Driving an hour each way several times a month can do that. My husband's has almost 200,000 though, so I don't complain.
If I can't have a cute little Saturn 2 seater, I'll stick with my Aztek. It drives like a car, and is just the right size for me and the kids.

Waoh, that's a lot of miles. We have had our Seinna for about three weeks or so and I've already got just under 2000 miles on it. We tend to do a lot of driving.

As for my dream car I'll give you my with kids dream car and my without kids dream car - with kids - dorky as it sounds - Honda Odyssey. We drove one and I love the look much more than my Toyota but the ride (at least on the LX) was not much fun and the plush didn't even compare to the LE Toyota (plus Toyota was cheaper).

Now my non kids car would be my Lucy in Germany. I had/still have a BMW 318i and I love that car. When my husband returns her in a few months I will cry. I did feel heartbroken when i said goodbye in July.

I love cars though and car shopping :) Which is why most people think I'm nuts!

We have almost 200,00o miles on your van. It is a Town and Country 2003. I don't like it. We got it when I was pregnant with the babies and we needed a van. It was the best priced one we could find at the time. I had to give up my Santa Fe, which I LOVED! I never wanted to be a mini van mom *sigh*

Wow, I thought I drove a lot but you have me beat. It certainly helps that I don't have to drive to Alpharetta everyday now. I got my van in 2006...it's a 2004 and is getting ready to turn 115,000...so 69,000 in 3 1/2 years.

My dream car for a long time has been a Chevy Tahoe.

Dear Car Fairy...

I would like a Lexus Minivan.

Please invent that vehicle for me and deliver it to my house. In that chic, pearly white color, please.

Love,
Lula

I used to put anywhere from 50k to 100k on my car in a years time. Now I may drive 10,000 miles a year. It's the difference of working 60 miles from where you live and traveling as part of your job and being a domestic goddess. I only drive these days if I want to.

Also and too we have 4 cars for 2 drivers so I change out and drive different vehicles at different times.

Oh and if the car fairy brought me any car I would want a 1965 Mercedes 300 SL. THe two seater one that Richard Gere drove in Intersection.

120 miles a day. Yes. For real. It's insane and I wish I could change it! I actually have a great car, though...a Mini Cooper. I love it! If the car fairly showed up, I would just ask her to make my Mini the new Electric Mini! LOL!

I had a 2002 Suburban with 65Kish miles that I got rid of in November. We're cash buyers and hold cars for 8-10 years. Mainly, b/c it was a total lemon from the moment I drove it off the lot. The only reason I ditched it was b/c it needed MORE work and Sweetie refused to keep putting money into it. Honestly, I cried. I loved it. BUT, I got an Expedition and LUV it now too!

I'm dying for a 'play car'...a soft top JEEP!

I would let the car Fairy bring me anything new since My car is a gas guzzler (Suburban) and it is 2001 with LOTS of miles. I would love to own a car that HAS NOT been PUKED in by my KIDS!

Depends on how many trips I make back and forth to Atlanta. Which this year it hasn't been that many. lol

I want a Ford Edge.

I used to put a lot of miiles on my car driving 800 miles a weekend for my daughter. Now that she is in college, it's not nearly as far.

AFter you had this question on Friday Follies, I had to check and see how many miles I really have on my truck. I was surprise it had 10K more than I had though! It's been a great vehicle though, almost 50K on it and I've never had to take it in.

I'm not a huge car person, so I don't really have a "dream car" so to speak. But I have always been a bit taken with Lexus. So maybe the fairy could bring me one of those.

I think about 10K. I seriously don't know what I would want...I'd have to do a little research.

I put between 400-500 miles a WEEK on my car so...A LOT. Most of it is to & from work, since it's a 30 minute commute each way.

I don't know what car I would want. I'm not much of a "car person"...

OH, I'm with you on the Toyota Sienna, Kat. With all that storage, and automatic doors...yep, I'll admit to being a proud mini-van drivin momma.

My van is a 2005 Town and Country, with 72,000 miles. I'm hoping to make it another 70,000 before we have to buy another...

I'm impressed that you got a picture of that!!! I would have remembered at 100,001.

Hehehe. I work 5 minutes away from home and I don't like to drive after that. Greg has the nicer, newer car and does most of the driving. Soooooo... I have a 2003 with only 50,000 miles on it. Go figure!

I love my car, I'd love another just like it, but newer. It's a Toyota Sequoia, and it can hold 8 people.

My car is at 125,000 miles now. Wow, huh?!

no idea how many miles I have, but I am sick of having a van. best car I ever had was a volvo station wagon, but we don't all fit anymore.

maybe a clown car?

My car just turned 25,000 miles and it's 2 years old. Not bad. I want a Honda Odyssey in the worst way. And I never thought I would ever say that in my life.

You drive a Dodge Caravan...I recognize that dashboard :)!

Mine is an '02 but still only has 85,000 miles. Not bad!
